Increasing the Range of Motion in the Upper Back
James had been living with chronic tightness of the neck and upper back with
a constant dull ache which sometimes turned severe. As a result the shortened
muscles had rounded his shoulders forward and restricted the range of motion in his neck.
After the first Trigger Point treatment he said, with a big smile, "the last time I could turn my
head this much was 15 years ago".

Muscle Tightness and The Pain Cycle
Muscle pain starts when the tone passes a certain level. This is called the Pain Threshold.
so tightness is just a lower degree of pain. Tightness constricts blood and lymph vessels and
impinges on nerves causing more pain. So since tightness is (or causes) pain
and pain causes tightness, we now have a pain cycle and hence...
